Acting for the Camera (ages 10-17)

Mondays 5:00-6:00 starting September 27th
(8-week course)
Location:  Dance North County, Encinitas

TV PictureActing and performing in front of the camera requires a unique set of skills and techniques.  Designed for students who want to develop their audition skills and who are new to being on-camera, this class covers all aspects of acting for the camera: from auditions to the realities of performing on a set.  Students learn the art of single-camera acting techniques while using the newest sides from commercials, sitcoms, and film.

Register early.  This class is expected to fill quickly.

REGISTER NOW!!  ::  Give your young singers the start they deserve. Students learn to sing on their own and in groups by learning some of the best Broadway musicals!   Fun and encouraging support is given to help these young singers grow and develop.

REGISTER NOW:  !!  _Here is your child's chance to shine!   Our voice class teaches young singers the fundamentals of proper singing technique.  Regardless of the song, the basics stay the same. Let us encourage and develop your budding singer as they learn to bring-out their creative and musical talents through song.  All students learn solo songs as well as group numbers.  We give them the knowledge to know how to succeed and sing!

NOTE:  Class runs from September 13th - November 15th.

Broadway Song and Dance (ages 8 - 17)
Thursdays 5:00 - 6:00 starting September 27th
Location:  Dance North County

Taught by professional theater performer Shelly Hart-Breneman, this class focuses on Broadway-style hoofing and singing.  Drawing from Broadway hits of the past and present, Shelly will present a fun, fast-pased class.  She will teach steps that might be encountered in any theater audition, as well as working on vocal technique.  She will be sure to bring out the best in each student.  This is a real confidence builder for all would-be performers.  Students strut their stuff for invited guests on the last day of class.
No prior experience necessary.  Be prepared for a lot of fun!

Young Actors Workshop (ages 8-11)

Our popular acting class for young performers offers a fun and challenging approach to learning the basic skills required for acting. This fun-filled introduction to the world of stage uses improvisation, games, and other creative devices to teach the fundamentals of acting, mime, and the language of theater. The grand finale is a demonstration of improvisations for parents, relatives, and friends.

Actors Workshop II (ages 12-17)

Mondays 4:00-5:00 starting

Location:  Dance North County, Encinitas

Older Actors w10% discount for enrolling in more than one class

This acting class is designed for the older youth performer.  Classes will use traditional theater ideas to help learn the  skills required for acting. This class will use games, set situations and maybe even a little improvisation to teach skills that will stay with these young people for life!   The grand finale is a demonstration of improvisations for parents, relatives, and friends.
