Group Musical Theatre Singing Class

Ages 8-11
Mondays ~ 4:30 - 5:15
September 25th - November 13th

Our smaller group singing classes teach young singers the fundamentals of proper technique while they have fun learning songs from popular musicals.  Regardless of the song, the basics stay the same. We encourage and develop budding singers as they learn to bring out their creative and musical talents through song.  All students learn solo songs as well as group numbers.  Class culminates in a final demonstration/performance for family and friends.  

*Every class features different songs. Past singing class students always encouraged to enroll again!

Acting for 8-10 year olds  (8 week class)

8 10 Acting

Ages: 8-10
Tuesdays ~ 4:00 - 5:00
September 26th - November 28th (no class on 10/31)

Our popular acting class for young performers offers a fun and challenging approach to all the basic skills of an actor. This fun-filled introduction to the world of stage uses improvisation, games, and other creative devices to teach the fundamentals of acting, mime and the language of theater.  The grand finale is a demonstration of improvisations and/or scenes for parents, relatives and friends.

Tuition: $150.00

Acting for 11-15 year olds  (8 week class)

Teen Acting

Ages: 11-15
Tuesdays ~ 5:00 - 6:00
September 26th - November 28th (no class on 10/31)

Our teen acting trains young actors to pave a way to stretch themselves and find new ideas and tools to help build their acting “chops”.   The class focusses on building confidence, creativity  and the ability to think outside the box. Students explore acting through improvisation, pantomime, small scenes, character analysis and acting games/exercises.  These older actors dig a bit deeper into the fundamentals and the language of theatre! 

(The class is designed for all abilities and levels of acting experience.)

Tuition: $150.00

Broadway Dance! (10 week class)

Broadway Dance 3

Ages: 8-15
Thursdays ~ 4:00-5:00
September 28th - December 7th (no class Thanksgiving week)

This brand new 10 week dance class is great for students wishing to learn and build on the dancing skills required for basic musical theatre.  Students will learn skills in different styles of musical theatre dance and tap, as well as learn dance steps that might be encountered in any theater audition.  Not only is the class a good work out, but it’s a real confidence builder for all would-be performers!  Class is for all levels and abilities.  No prior experience necessary.  (Tap shoes required)

Hamilton Star

Hip Hop and Modern Musical Dance (10 week class) 

Ages: 9 -18
Thursdays ~ 5:00-6:00
September 28th - December 7th (no class Thanksgiving week)

This high energy hip hop class teaches students the techniques of hip hop and modern dance for musical theatre. Using primarily music from the Broadway musical, HAMILTON as well as IN THE HEIGHTS,  this high energy class is for anyone with a passion to move and learn!  No dance experience is required. Just wear sneakers and be prepared to sweat!

NCSA Class Information

All NCSA classes (except our private and group singing classes) are held at Dance North County, 535 Encinitas Blvd. Class specifics are subject to change without notice. Registration is accepted through the first week of the session. Each class has definite class size and age limits. 

Cancellations/Refunds: Cash refunds (less $25.00 service charge per child, per class or camp) are available up until seven days prior to the start of class or camp, after which time no refund is given. If NCSA must cancel a class or camp due to insufficient enrollment, any tuition paid will be refunded in full.

We offer the opportunity of multi-class and sibling discounts. Email info@ncsarts.org for more information.

Jenna NATS

Pamela Laurent and Scott Gregory have been training the next generation of professionals with huge success.  Their students have gone on to nationally recognized colleges/universities for music, won local and regional singing competitions, as well as earned leading roles all around San Diego and in the professional world beyond.  Using their decades of professional singing experience to guide students,  Scott and Pamela lead students to excel in vocal training and in performing confidence. 

Nothing can replace quality vocal technique and instruction.  Whether you or your student want to enjoy singing for fun, for bettering singing auditions, or for learning proper, healthy vocal technique, studying at the voice studio is a positive step in the right direction.  

Please contact us if you are looking for individual vocal instruction. NCSA’s private voice studio is in session, excluding July, all year round. Lessons are private and are given weekly for either 30 minute, 45 minute or 60 minute weekly time allotments.

Because individual lesson are scheduled according to your schedule, we cannot have you sign-up online without talking to us before hand.

Performing Arts Class Location

All classes, unless otherwise noted, are held at Dance North County at 535 Encinitas Boulevard in the North Coast Business Park.  Classes are conducted in either the Main ballroom studio (Ste. 100), the Junior Ballroom studio (Ste. 101), or the Clubroom studio (Ste. 102).  Specific studio assignments for classes are communicated to students and parents via email from info@ncsarts.org.
